Senior Bowl In-Game Blog
  • That'll do it for the live blog. North wins 31-13. Stick around for a full recap and final thoughts from Mobile.
  • Robinson's pass intercepted by A.J. Edds, lateraled to Chris Cook. Six turnovers for the South today.
  • It really isn't fair the consistent pressure Graham has been getting today. He's fast around the edge and very physically gifted. Definitely deserves MVP.
  • Lonyae Miller fumbles, recovered by Jamar Chaney, fumbled again and recovered by Selvie.
  • Robinson's pass intercepted by Sean Weatherspoon with 1:34 left.
  • Today's Under-Armour MVP: Brandon Graham
  • Pass dropped by Andre Roberts. After a good week of practice, he's been relatively quiet today.
  • Another nice play by Brandon Graham, chasing down Zac Robinson after a gain of six.
  • Hoping the cold weather is playing a role in the South's inability to hold on to the ball. Zac Robinson recovers his own fumble.
  • Antonio Coleman looked great on three straight plays, nearly defelcting a screen pass, then getting in on a tackle in each of the following two plays. At 261 lbs, he's an ideal DE/OLB hybrid.
  • Odrick and Alualu get pressure up the middle to force another fumble. South falls on this one.
  • North 31, South 13: LeFevour to Gilyard, 31-yard TD on the first play following the turnover. Arenas on the coverage.
  • Tebow looks to run, fumble forced by Koa Misi, recovered by A.J. Edds. 4th lost fumble by the South.
  • Mardy Gilyard and Brandon Graham have been the two most impressive players through three quarters. Gilyard has four catches for 71 yards, Graham has two sacks and 3 TFL.
  • South defense stops LeFevour on a roll-out on a 4th and 2. South takes over on downs.
  • That's the end of the third quarter. North is up 24-13 and is a yard from extending the lead.
  • 43-yard pass from LeFevour to Gilyard has the North inside the 10. Lindley got burned in coverage.
  • McCluster tries to bounce the ball outside, gets hit by Asante and lost the football, recovered by Justin Cole. McCluster measured in with 8 1/2 inch hands, 2nd smallest here -- this has been one of the main concerns with McCluster.
  • Tebow back at quarterback for the South.
  • Today's crowd is a sell-out, the 15th in 16 years: 40,646.
  • North 24, South 13: Blount bulls his way down inside the 1 yard-line, pushing defenders back 4 yards after initial contact. LeFevour sneaks it in for the score on the next play.
  • On 3rd & 8, LeFevour scrambles for 9 yards, displays good speed to outrun Darryl Sharpton to the sideline.
  • Punt returned 39 yards by Jacoby Ford, showing excellent speed and vision. North starts at the South 29.
  • Cam Thomas sacks Zac Robinson on 3rd down, forcing another South punt.
  • Weatherspoon continues to put on a show during timeouts, dancing in the huddle and showing everyone football is fun. He's been playing ILB today.
  • Huge punt return by Arenas is coming back because of a block in the back. South takes over at their own 11.
  • George Selvie bull-rushed Ed Wang right in to LeFevour. North goes 3 and out.
  • Patrick Robinson dropped an INT that almost certainly would have gone for 6.
  • Dan LeFevour taking over for Canfield as North QB.
  • Graham records another sack and forces a fumble, recovered by Tyson Alualu. Ciron Black actually did a nice job on Graham, chalk that up as a coverage sack.
  • Dangerous throw on the run by Zac Robinson, but it's completed to Andre Roberts in traffic across midfield.
  • LaMarr Houston wraps up Lonyae Miller in the backfield on 4th and 1, South will take over at their own 32.
  • Devin McCourty returns the kickoff to about midfield, giving the North good field position to start the 2nd half. Canfield still in at QB.
  • The North has dominated the first half. It looks like more than a four point game at this point. South quarterbacks have not looked great, but neither have the North quarterbacks. It's been a sloppy game, but the North defense has been playing fast and mean. The South is going to have to prove they can run the ball in the second half to have a chance.
  • Geno Atkins and Cameron Sheffield each have a sack and TFL for the South, Brandon Graham has a sack and 1.5 TFL for the North.
  • Here are some of the first half stats -- Pike ended up 5-12, Canfield is 1-3 and has been sacked twice. Zac Robinson is 3-5 for 82 yards. Jeremy Williams leads all receivers with 45 yards, Blount leads all rushers with 28 yards. Jamar Chaney has 5 tackles. Matt Dodge is averaging 46 yards on 3 punts.
  • North 17, South 13: Colin Peek gets behind Justin Cole and hauls in a 19-yard TD. Asante lays a nice hit on Peek, who struggled to get up but now appears fine. Very impressive drive for Zac Robinson: 5 plays, 82 yards, 1:13.
  • Completion to Riley Cooper has South into the red zone with under 20 seconds left in the half.
  • Zac Robinson's first play for the South is a 37-yard completion to Jeremy Williams. It was a little under-thrown, but Williams used great body control to make the catch.
  • Canfield picked off by Taylor Mays in the end zone. Not sure Canfield ever saw him, but Mays made it look easy.
  • Atkins has had a great week, beats Iupati and sacks Canfield for a loss of 12.
  • Patrick Robinson flagged for illegal contact, gives the North a new set of downs. Hurt on the play, does not appear too serious.
  • Canfield puts a nice touch on a 30+ yard throw to Ed Dickson while rolling out to the left. We're at the two minute warning with the North approaching the red zone.
  • North 17, South 6: After recovering a fumble deep in opposing territory, the South missed a chance to cut the North's lead to one possession. After 6 plays and 17 yards, a 33-yard FG by Tiffin, 17-6.
  • Graham showing incredible instincts in the running game. There's a reason he led the nation in TFL this season. Gets one here for -6 yards. Would still like to see some power moves out of him today, though.
  • South inside the North 10, looking to cut it to a one possession game.
  • Kyle Wilson has looked very physical in tackling today.
  • After the punt, South's Cameron Sheffield knocks the ball loose from new North QB Canfield, recovered by C.J. Wilson.
  • Mardy Gilyard does a nice job staying behind his blockers on punt returns. Really like how he puts his hand on blockers and leads them.
  • Brandon Graham compared himself to LaMarr Woodley as his press conference this week. Picks up a sack for a loss of three yards.
  • Interesting that Pike had remained the North's QB, despite looking inaccurate on several throws. he showed nice touch on a couple passes early on, but has not looked great. Look for a possible quarterback change next possession, Canfield has been warming up on the sidelines.
  • North 17, South 3: Jarrett Brown had no chance on a high snap from Ted Larsen. Austen Lane recovers it at the 6-yard line and brings it in for a North touchdown.
  • Pike has been missing targets when he's been forced to roll out of the pocket. Wasn't on the same page on a slant with Danario Alexander, who wasn't even looking for the ball.
  • Lonyae Miller rush for 18 yards, looks really explosive. He showed a strong stiff arm and the ability to get to the outside.
  • Dan Williams knocks down a pass at the line of scrimmage.
  • Brown just over-threw a wide open Colin Peek 20 yards downfield, forcing the South to punt. North taking over at the 20, Tony Pike still under center.
  • Jarrett Brown takes over as quarterback for the South.
  • Here are some of the first quarter stats -- Tony Pike: 5-7, 45 yards. Tim Tebow: 3-6, 23 yards. Darryl Washington had 4 tackles for the North, Patrick Robinson has 3 for the South.
  • North 10, South 3: 14-yard TD run for LeGarrette Blount. He's looked impressive so far for a player that missed the majority of the year.
  • Blount looking powerful and quick for someone that's 245 pounds. Nice run in his first action of the day. A nice completion from Pike to Gilyard has the North on the South 29-yard line, end of the first quarter.
  • North 3, South 3: The South took advantage of Brandon Graham losing contain on an end around and went 27 yards to set up a Leigh Tiffin field goal from 43 yards that just barely fell over the cross-bar. Gilyard brought a nice return out near the North 40 on the ensuing kickoff.
  • Tiffin's 43-yard FG makes it 3-3, 2:25 left in the first.
  • Most effective play so far is a 27-yard reverse to Jeremy Williams. Ciron Black hustled downfield and pulled well to help the play develop.
  • North 3, South 0: The South punted to Mardy Gilyard to end their first possession and the North proceeded to march down the field methodically. Tony Pike’s pass to Garrett Graham was called back due to a holding penalty on right guard Mike Iupati. After the drive stalled out, Brett Swenson booted a field goal from 40+ to put the North up 3-0 with about 6:00 left in the first. The South needs to get something going against a stout North defense.
  • Swenson's 43-yard FG makes it 3-0 North, six minutes left in the first.
  • Great play by Geno Atkins to trip up Joique Bell in the backfield.
  • North TD pass from Pike to Garrett Graham is wiped away with a holding call on Iupati.
  • McCluster shows his speed early with an 11-yard reception.
  • Nearly underway, South wins coin toss, will receive.
  • Tebow, Taylor Mays, Dexter McCluster, and Javier Arenas are the Captains for the South. Sean Weatherspoon, Mike Iupati and Mike Windt for the North.
  • Huge ovation for Tim Tebow as he's introduced as starting QB for the South.
  • Happy 24th Birthday to Sean Canfield.
  • Joique Bell is the starting RB for the North, McCluster for the South.
  • Just got to the stadium. Nice press box hospitality.
  • Having a nice lunch at Logan's Roadhouse. Will arrive at the stadium around 1:00.
  • Kick-off is 3:00 CT.
  • Be sure to follow along as we will be blogging live during the game.
