Kristofer O'Dowd
|
Kristofer O'Dowd - USC (HT: 6-5 - WT: 300)
Projection: 4th-5th Round
Positives: Heady... Explosive... Good length... Good pass blocker, quick first step... Quick pass set... Uses his hands well... Good footwork, good lateral movement and slide... Does a nice job redirecting... Very solid run blocker... Adequate strength at POA... Can generate solid power... Plays with a solid base... Very good contact balance... Gets to the second level and seals linebackers well... Does an adequate job hitting moving targets... Brings his feet along with him... Solid flexibility and body control... Carries his pads well... Plays with good technique... Good mental toughness... Aggressive.
Negatives: Plays a little high at times... Needs to get stronger and show a little more consistency at POA... Not a bigtime pile mover, doesn't get a lot of movement... Doesn't get much leverage drive blocking... Hands are quick but lack much pop... Doesn't look very fluid in space, will overextend, reach and lunge... Injuries may have impacted his playing strength and power in 2009.

Dan Wenger - Notre Dame (HT: 6-4 - WT: 300)
Projection: 6th Round
Positives: Athletic... Versatile... Heady... Very solid run blocker... Does a nice job on pulls and traps... Can get to the second level... Does a solid job sealing linebackers from the action... Very solid flexibility and body control... Solid pass protector... Sets up quickly... Good knee bender, plays with good pad level... Good hand placement, keeps his hands inside... Good lateral movement and slide... Good balance... Good mental toughness, mean streak... Plays to the whistle.
Negatives: Not especially strong at POA... Marginal anchor, can be walked back into the pocket... Doesn't stay on his blocks as long as he should... Doesn't lock on and control defenders very well... Doesn't re-set very well once knocked back... More of a get in the way type blocker in space than actual hitter.
